The Origin of
Spencer Street Kitchen
Spencer Street Kitchen, better know as SSK first began in March of 2020, pre-covid and in a small hostel kitchen, located on Spencer Street in the heart of Melbourne, Australia whilst cooking an evening meal. At this stage, it was meerly a passing thought to something we both had a passion for.
Fast forward to September 2022, and SSK became a reality. Branching from our sister company, Precious Events, our first trailer was purchased. Over the next 8 months, it was transformed from a baron horse-box into what has become the home of Spencer Street Kitchen and the start of quirky family-run business.
Come July 2023, SSK was ready to trade and did just that! Selling over 1,000 Pizza’s in our first 3 days of trading and receiving rave reviews from both clients and customers, we set off on our journey to become one of the Midlands most renowned event caterers.
SSK From Start To Finish
Laying the Foundations
To ensure the Pizza Van met the environmental health regulations, the first step was to replace the flooring. The purpose being to create an anti-slip surface that is easily cleanable and can withstand the weight of heavy equipment.
Installing the Essentials
Once the flooring was installed, the next step was to install the essential equipment. This meant finding a suitable location for both the fridge and the sinks. After installing these, the trailer begun to take shape and was ready to be fitted with the necessary shelving and storage.
The Finished Product
After fitting the shelving and securing the equipment, we had the finished product. Fully equipped to be a versatile catering trailer, with the primary service being fresh Stone-Baked Pizza but having the capability to provide any style of catering.

Spencer Street Kitchen was built on the foundations of a passion for good food and cooking and that is exactly our purpose. Focusing on fresh-food made with quality ingredients, we aim to serve indulging meals that are enjoyed with every bite.
Aside from providing the best food festival food around, we love to see a smile on our customers face’s. To ensure we achieve this, we’ve headhunted the friendliest faces around, making sure that each of our employees are real people’s people and will always be there to greet you and your friends with a smile.
To conclude, we want to be the sole of your event, warming hearts with the greatest customer service and warming stomachs with the most delicious street food around!

SSK is here for the long run. What’s our aim? To become the most renowned event caterer in the Midlands. As we progress further into the industry, we plan to open a number of new catering trailers, serving a variety of different cuisines from Greek BBQ & Smash Burgers to Steak Sandwiches and more!
